When a major life crisis like divorce happens these are common questions:
‘Who Am I?’, ‘What am I doing here?’, ‘What’s it all about?’
This is my answer –
You are the most important person in your world.
You may struggle to believe it, but it is the truth.
You truly are the most significant person in your world.
You are the person with whom you spend the most time.
You are most definitely and absolutely worth spending time on.
When you fly on an aeroplane, the demonstration before taking off emphasises that if the cabin pressure drops an oxygen mask will drop down for you to use. You are advised to put yours on before anyone else’s. Why? Because how can you help anyone else if you don’t look after yourself first?
That is why self-care is so important. It gives you the energy, strength and focus to move on.
If you get self-care right, you align yourself with the universe and life flows, and when life flows, everything you need follows along with it.
If you want something different to what you have, then caring for you is precisely the place to start because unless you begin to care and therefore understand yourself, nothing much is going to change.
If looking after yourself and putting yourself at the top of the list feels like it will isolate you from others then nothing could be further from the truth.
When you care for yourself, when you feel sure of your strength and power, when you are healthy, joy-filled and living a vibrant life what do you think will happen? Your friendship group will grow and develop, your life will expand, and your self-worth will continue to expand with it. There will be opportunities you never before dreamed of coming your way.
I discuss all of this and more in the book,
‘Rise Again After Divorce:
The 5 keys to enable women to heal wounds, resurrect dreams and create a life full of love’
Book 1 in the Help Your Cellves Empowerment Series.
We look at tools and tips to help you move out of the pit and into the sunshine after a painful relationship breakup.
If this is something you are interested in then send a message and I’ll add you to the list to be the first in the know when the book comes out.
